In this piece, Sarah explored the tension between identity and obscurity using vibrant acrylics and collage. The image symbolises past loves in my life and how after time their memory fades.
The bold black streaks symbolize fading memories and the struggle to hold onto memories of old loves, while the underlying portrait looks warm its becoming obscured by black streaks. Much like rain on a window pane. While you can still identify the person there is a layer of distance.
This work pulses with raw emotion and invites reflection on how we navigate the layers of our own stories, making it a striking conversation starter for any space.
