Red and white, this piece was inspired by the can of the beer, Red Stripe. I began by laying a diagonal red line in the middle of the piece. I chose an image that I felt created movement within the piece and shapes within the piece.
The central figure draped arm shape behind her head and the black she wears brings a dark contrast towards red. Red lines emanate from the circle that envelopes around her head. The piece has a gothic like quality to it.
The viewer is left wondering as to the gaze of the central figure means.
